2: Installing and Configuring the S2800e
Verint Video Intelligence Solutions 26
Local alarms 1 to 4 are dry contact signals located on the TB2 connector. Each input has
two states, normally open and normally closed. For example, a door switch can activate an
alarm when connected to an S2800e local alarm input:
The alarm states are:
Open = high, where high = 5V DC
Closed = low, where low <= 1V DC
Since dry contact switches are normally defined in terms of their inactive or normal state,
the following holds true:
Normally closed (NC) = active high (open)
Normally open (NO) = active low (closed)
The local output relay is located on connector TB4. It is used to activate the Nextiva alarm
input.
For the programming instructions of the local alarm and relay signals, refer to the Nextiva
S2800e Series Programming Guide.
The Nextiva signals include one alarm input contact and one output relay (made of two
pins):
The Nextiva output relay signal is accessible by the Nextiva software. To use the alarm
input in Nextiva, connect it to the local relay (on connector TB4). This way, you will be able
